The Mordens serve the Turkana people in the Kenyan desert. They work in leadership development for house and village churches and also in clean water initiatives, installing wells and irrigation systems to provide sanitary water and help people gain food security.

The clean water and daily food from the irrigated farms provide opportunities for Christians to reach out both locally to their neighbors and cross culturally to other tribes.

Gene and Melba have served in Turkana since 1995. Their primary ministry is to make disciples of Jesus Christ which they accomplish through five projects:
