Patrick & Katie Gerber

Since 2016 Patrick and Katie have worked alongside the Kenyan staff at Missions of Hope International (MOHI) in Nairobi, Kenya. They focus on empowering MOHI’s staff to improve ministries and international partnerships.

Katie focuses on creating discipleship experiences for MOHI’s 32,000 students and 1,800 staff. Since 2021 she has been helping to design church camp experiences at MOHI’s Angaza Discovery Camp for their 6th grade students located at the Kenyan coast. This includes discipling camp staff so they can better lead and disciple the campers in their faith. In 2025, she helped create a new camp for MOHI highschoolers to cement their identity in Christ before graduation.

Patrick provides leadership for MOHI’s corporate communications needs. He mentors MOHI’s content creators in the Communications Department to share the stories of how God is transforming the lives of students, families and communities. These photos, videos and written stories help attract and retain international church partners. With more than 35 schools throughout Kenya, Patrick drives staff through crowded alleys in urban slums and off road to remote desert villages to get to the poverty-stricken communities where MOHI serves.

Their daughter, Hannah, (2005) is now in college in Philadelphia.
