Lynn facilitates the Planting Disciples Groups (PDGs) in Turkana. These groups are oral and therefore use God’s story to help people come to know and follow the Lord. Lynn is working with two local ladies, Ann and Nancy, who are facilitating groups and finding like-minded champions to begin facilitating new groups near their homes. The goal is to have a reproducing movement of disciples making disciples by helping people learn what they need to follow for each story they discuss in a small group.
Lynn began her mission work in Africa in 1996, specializing in literacy among the nomadic Turkana people of northwest Kenya. At the time, a lack of education indicated that literacy was crucial in establishing a strong, indigenous church. In 2013 she transitioned to teaching English as a Second Language to Turkana church leaders. She transitioned to discovering how oral people learn and small discipleship groups in 2022.
