Young adults who live in the Maasai villages in Matale have very few options for advancement. Most children finish their primary or secondary educations and then return home and care for their families’ livestock. A young person’s dream of going to college is usually shattered when he and his parents realize that tuition is astronomical in comparison to the family’s average annual income. There are four young men eager to learn a trade to provide improved infrastructure for their communities. The Reach Higher Project seeks to provide funding for their trade school training.
