Young adults who live in the Maasai villages in Matale have very few options for advancement. Most children finish their primary or secondary educations and then return home and care for their families’ livestock. A young person’s dream of going to college is usually shattered when he and his parents realize that tuition is astronomical in comparison to the family’s average annual income. There are 12 young men and women like this who dream of one day becoming teachers. This Reach Higher Project seeks to provide funding for their higher education opportunities to advance themselves and their communities.
