Misael and Yola work with a CMF team to minister to hundreds of people, witnessing transformation in the lives of individuals, families and the community of Fuego Nuevo in Iztapalapa, Mexico City, and in Xalatlaco on the west side of the city.
For more than fifteen years, Misael and Yola have ministered and raised their children in Fuego Nuevo, a marginalized community rife with problems such as abuse, drug trafficking and family dysfunction. He leads the Zona Maranatha Church and directs the Zona 10:14 Community Center, training leaders in DNA (Christian worldview), Community Health Evangelism (CHE) and Disciple Making Movements (DMM). He is a teacher, linguist, translator, ordained minister and seminary professor.
The church reaches the community through holistic ministries such as dental, medical and counseling services, Celebrate Recovery and teaching English and skills training.
Misael and Yola are the parents of four children: Misael Jr., Eslie, Karen and Benjamin.
